Thurston Moore responds to the music of the late avant-garde composer Maryanne Amacher (1938–2009), known for her sonic experiments with architectural spaces and psychoacoustic phenomena. Sonic Youth founder Moore collaborated with the late electronic music pioneer in the film Daytrip Maryanne and in a live performance in 2004.

Doors open 30 minutes before performance starts. This is a standing event, with limited seating provided on request.

 

Biography

Thurston Moore is best known as a singer, songwriter and guitarist of Sonic Youth and the Thurston Moore Band.. He performs and records solo and in many group collaborations, and runs the Ecstatic Peace! record label.

Maryanne Amacher was an American composer and installation artist. She is known for working extensively with a family of psychoacoustic phenomena called auditory distortion products, in which the ears themselves produce audible sound.
