Anton Mirto‘s The Army is a call to families and young people to be brave in an age that promotes fear, by working together and empowering each other.
Conceived in 2016 as a desire to stand up, stay awake and survive, The Army sees participants practice fearlessness and strength, through stylised marching drills and audible rhythmic breath.

Take part in a free, empowering workshop for families and young people. Dates to be announced soon.
The Army workshops are open to 8-13 year olds accompanied by an adult.

‘Working under her own name and as former Co-Director of A2company, Anton Mirto has wrapped performers in tinfoil and buried them alive, created a sound installation of whispered apologies and a dance from people jolting to the pop of bubblewrap. At once playful and rigorous, her work is interested in the possibility of social change – and in thinking about the small actions that might build up to bring it about.‘ Run riot interview

She has been visiting lecturer at University of the Arts (MA Costume) Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (MA Performance) & Kingston University (Architecture & Landscape).
