An extended tour of this extraordinary collection of material from Adrian Henri‘s archive by its curator, Catherine Marcangeli. The show looks at the rise of The Liverpool Scene and beat poets in the U.K. in the 1960s and 70s.

About Catherine Marcangeli

Catherine Marcangeli is a Paris-based art historian and curator. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Paris and at Columbia University, specialising in art since the 1960s. As the executor of the Adrian Henri Estate, she has edited his Selected and Unpublished Poems, 1955-2000, (LUP, 2007), developed the website adrianhenri.com and catalogued his Total Art Archive.

She has also curated exhibitions of his work in the UK and abroad, including Adrian Henri, Total Art at the Liverpool Biennial (2014), First Happenings at the ICA, London (2015), Adrian Henri, Poet/Painter at the Royal Festival Hall, London (2017). She edited the catalogue that accompanies this exhibition, Adrian Henri, I Want Everything to Happen, foreword by Jarvis Cocker, preface by Byron Coley, Ecstatic Peace Library, 2019.
