In 2013 22 young people aged 14-24 from across London collaborated with artist Peter Liversidge as part of Whitechapel Gallery’s annual summer youth project . The group took the artist’s work in the Spirit of Utopia exhibition as a starting point, specifically a proposal to ‘swamp a street within walking distance of the Whitechapel Gallery with brilliant white bunting ’. The group considered the boundaries between the possible and impossible in art making, exploring the roles of interpretation, negotiation and reception. The documentation from the week was brought together into a publication created by the group in collaboration with Studio Hato.
In September, the young people who took part in the project returned to the Gallery to host a stall at the 2013 London Art Book Fair selling copies of their publication White Triangles. The group sold all 50 copies of the book and additional copies are now available in the Whitechapel Gallery bookshop.
