The Whitechapel Gallery presents a new archive display which documents the history of the Festival of Arts Shiraz-Persepolis, a ground-breaking international arts festival held around Shiraz, Iran, every summer from 1967–1977. Rarely seen photographs, posters, publications, audio and video documenting significant cultural and historical moments in the Festival’s history go on show at the Whitechapel Gallery from 21 April 2015.

British artist Peter Liversidge (b. 1973) presents a new solo exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery inspired by ideas around demonstration and protest. he exhibition is the result of a collaboration with groups of primary school children from east London, who worked with the artist to compose and write lyrics for protest songs, create choreography and design banners and placards.

Rarely-seen art works inspired by nature have been selected by Turner Prize nominated painter Lynette Yiadom-Boakye for an exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery. Drawn from the V-A-C collection, Moscow, it includes works byPeter Doig, David Hockney, Gary Hume and Andy Warhol, and is the third in a series of four collection displays at the Whitechapel Gallery.
Joy Gregory with Whitechapel Gallery has won the Freelands Award 2023. This award enables organisations to present an exhibition by a mid-career female-identifying artist who may not yet have received the acclaim or public recognition that her work deserves.
