Allied Editions at Frieze London 2015
14–17 October 2015

Allied Editions, a unique artist’s editions collective featuring Camden Arts Centre, Chisenhale Gallery, Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), South London Gallery, Studio Voltaire, Serpentine Galleries and Whitechapel Gallery, returns to Frieze London from 14-17 October 2015.
Allied Editions presents specially commissioned works of art from as little as £40. Leading contemporary artists donate all editions, with the proceeds directly supporting the organisations’ public exhibitions and education projects.
This year Allied Editions is bigger than ever, with a programme of daily appearances, including book signings and guest art advisors. There will also be a special opportunity for visitors to meet the Directors of each institution as they take it in turns to host the Allied Editions stand.
Frieze Fairs director Victoria Siddall explains: “London’s non-profit art spaces form a vital part of the city’s art scene and I am delighted that Allied Editions will have a bigger presence than ever at Frieze London this year. Purchasing works from Allied Editions is a great way to support non-profits and also to begin a collection. I am looking forward to seeing new works launching at Frieze London by artists including Rosemarie Trockel, Roberto Cuoghi, Zhang Ding, Pablo Bronstein, and Rachel Rose, winner of the 2015 Frieze Artist Award.”
Iwona Blazwick, former director, Whitechapel Gallery said: “From etchings to ceramics, editions are a vital medium for artistic experimentation – and a way for artists to disseminate their ideas. For five years Allied Editions has defined the most important editions artists are making today in collaboration with London’s foremost public galleries. For collectors at every level Allied Editions gives access to our most significant living artists and directly supports the public art ecosystem.”
Joe Scotland, director, Studio Voltaire said: “With increasing reductions in public funding, Allied Editions has provided an essential way for public galleries to raise vital income, which has totalled over £370,000 to date. These funds have directly contributed towards the realisation of landmark exhibitions and innovative education and commissioning programmes, many of which are free to visit.”
In addition to over 100 Allied Edition works on show, this year also features a range of new editions launched exclusively at Frieze London 2015 by Pablo Bronstein, Sol Calero, Duncan Campbell, Matt Connors, Dorothy Cross, Roberto Cuoghi, Michael Dean, Zhang Ding, Nicole Eisenman, Michael Fullerton, Tobias Madison, Jumana Manna, Haroon Mirza, Nicolas Party, Rachel Rose, Rosemarie Trockel and Jim Welling.
In acknowledgement of the important role arts organisations outside of London play within the UK cultural scene, a regional organisation will join the Allied Editions collective for the first time, with Glasgow International presenting a selection of their editions at the stand in 2015.
