On Thursday 19 January 2023, Whitechapel Gallery hosted its annual Art Icon gala in honour of renowned artist Jenny Holzer.
Holzer is the tenth artist to receive the prestigious Art Icon award.
The evening coincided with an online auction of leading contemporary artworks with auction partner Phillips.
Performing on the night was founding member of Sonic Youth Thurston Moore, ranked amongst Rolling Stone’s ‘100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time’.
All funds raised from the gala and auction support Whitechapel Gallery’s pioneering education and community programmes.
15 artworks and exclusive experiences are available to bid on in the 2023 Art Icon Online Auction, hosted by Phillips.
Bidding closes 2pm GMT on Friday 20 January 2023.
