Writer, filmmaker, architectural critic, gourmand and Britain’s greatest living television essayist Jonathan Meades (b. 1947) is the focus of our summer Retrospective.
In his most autobiographical film, Meades revisits his childhood and accidental architectural education – his time spent on the rounds with his father, a biscuit salesman. This is coupled with a trip to Worcestershire, retracing the steps of Meades’ formal architectural education, Nikolaus Pevsner’s architectural guides.
The film-maker will introduce this screening.
