Art Already Made: Skills Exchange

Working in collaboration with City Gateway Women’s Project in Tower Hamlets, artist Rebecca Davies developed a participatory project with women and their children to celebrate local knowledge, creativity and skills.

Focusing on learning as exchange, the project featured a series of creative workshops taking place throughout October 2015 – March 2016 at City Gateway site in Poplar and Stepney involving activities ranging from engraving and book binding to embroidery and beauty therapy.

The project fostered connections between women’s family life and personal achievement.
