Local Knowledge Project

The Local Knowledge Project (2013 – ) is an ongoing piece of research designed to prompt dialogue between individuals and organisations in east London. The project seeks to gather knowledge about the concerns of people living and working near the Whitechapel Gallery.

The research informs future programming, enabling us to think more specifically about audience, the function of our programmes, how our work as an organisation is perceived and how we want to collaborate with communities in the future.

Meetings convened so far have focussed on themes including childhood, collaboration, craft, language, young people and working with deaf communities.

Participation in this project is by invitation.
