Students from Morpeth Secondary School, Tower Hamlets, worked with artist and designer Alice Shirley to explore drawing. Merging performance, music and storytelling students filled old books with their marks and lines as a response to William Kentridge’s ‘Second Hand-reading’ , on display in the exhibition William Kentridge: Thick Time.
I was expecting to see pictures and paintings that seem to have no meaning and are simple illustrations but this wasn’t the case. Instead I saw William Kentridge and all his interesting art work. It was a totally new experience and has given me ideas of pieces to create for my art exam at school. Student
