Duchamp & Sons worked in collaboration with artist Ruth Proctor over six weeks to explore themes of chance, probability, luck and fortune in her practice.
Using materials and processes from Proctor’s practice the group made interventions within the gallery and local area to test how artworks might be distributed and circulated beyond the site of the gallery.
To mark the end of a six-week project , the group transformed the Creative Studio into an Art Casino. Members of the public were invited to participate in activities devised by the group including Roulette Poetry, Wall of Fortune and Photo Dice. Each activity was based on elements of chance or luck, inspired by Procter’s artwork.
