Duchamp and Sons have been invited to create films in dialogue with the Josiah McElheny exhibition The Past Was A Mirage I Had Left Far Behind. The group will explore the concept of abstraction, which the work references, as a way of responding to the sights and sounds of the surrounding area. East End Abstract is organised in partnership with No.w.here, a local Artist run space which has 16mm film facilities unavailable anywhere else in the UK. Duchamp and Sons will work at No.w.here experimenting with analogue techniques including, film destruction, photograms and cameraless filmmaking.
The final films will be screened in Gallery 2 on Thursday 12 July, 7pm
